METRO DX CLUB MEETING MINUTES – April 21, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 7:37 PM by President Pro Tempore Phil Snyder, N9LAH. President Bob Adamitis, K9MDO was vacationing in the Caribbean and Vice President John Holmes, W9ILY was on a motor trip to the Eastern U.S. Secretary/Treasurer Jack Nienhaus, W9NJB read the minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurer’s report, both of which were approved by the membership.

N9LAH reported on coming contests. This weekend the SP DX RTTY Contest. April 29/30 – Helvetia Contest. April 29/May 7 – International Spring Contest. May 6/7 – ARI International DX Contest. May 13/14 – Armed Forces Amateur – Military Cross band Communications Test. May 28/30 – CQ WW WPX Contest.

K9CJ Bob Jacobson, Field Day Chairman, proposed that the club operate 2A this year giving everyone an opportunity to operate. There would be a CW station and a SSB station along with a VHF setup. The various types of antennae were discussed. W9NJB, Jack, reported that he had talked to his nephew and that the motor home would be available.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM and the video "South Pacific Adventures" by AA6LF was shown.
