The meeting was called to order at 7:38 PM by Vice President John Holmes, W9ILY in the absence of President Bob Adamitis, K9MDO who is vacationing in Maui. Bob called in via cell phone before the meeting started. The minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurer’s report were read by Sect/Treas. Jack Nienhaus, W9NJB and approved by the membership.

W9ILY, John reported that member Jerry Celmer K9PY, is recovering from an emergency appendectomy. We all wish Jerry well.

Congratulations to Russ Hibma, K9DXR who made the CQ DX SSB Honor Roll with 275 countries confirmed.

John W9ILY reported on contests: This weekend – the 10-10 International Mobile Contest and the BARTG RTTY contests will be held. Just ahead, the CQ WW WPX SSB contest will be held on March 25-26. Please coordinate your reporting of scores with John, W9ILY for club entries. For the 2005 CQWW WPX CW contest, the Metro Club finished at the bottom of the club competition results. Hopefully, 2006 will be a better year.

The rest of the meeting consisted of radio, DXing and contest related eyeballing. Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.

We watched two interesting videos. Penguin Island 1990, and Space Shuttle (SAREX).
