Metro DX Club Officers

METRO DX CLUB February 2010 MEETING MINUTES - february 19, 2010

Meeting called to order by vice president W9ILY in lieu of K9MDO's absence. K9PY read a report from W9NKV on the Metro Winter fest. He then gave the treasurers report of $697.76 in the checking account and $100.00 cash on hand.
Contest report from N9LAH. There will be 2 teams for Metro this year for the NAQP RTTY contest: Metro Mutz and the Metro Maniacs. The ARRL CW contest is this weekend.
W9ILY reported that there was a request for a Metro Gold certificate. This led to a discussion on what the charge should be for the certificate. If was agreed to charge 2 IRC's or $3 if electronically sent or $5 if sent by mail.
W9ILY asked everyone to think about where we could hold Field Day this year since the location that we had last year wants to charge us $140 to use that location this year.
N9AKR gave a report on the Orlando Hamfest that he attended recently. K9PY gave a program with pictures on his experience of hiking up a 4800 foot mountain near Tuscon with ham gear to participate in the VHF/UHF contest in January. He also talked about operating from the Titan Missie site on their huge Discone antenna and his visit to the Pima Air museum.
