check WA7BNM Contest Calendar schedule.
CLUB
PICNIC is scheduled at the residence
of Phil, N9LAH on Saturday August 1st. More information to follow so
save the date.
A donation was suggested by
John W9ILY to NCDXF in the amount of $100. This in support of several future
scheduled DXpeditions. The motion was made by N9ORD and seconded by K9CJ.
It was noted that that
INDEXA is now tax exempt.
Comments were exchanged
about supporting plaques for the CQWW RTTY contest as well as CQ Magazine’s
viability.
An announcement was made for
help in scoring the DX Marathon. This
would be six weeks of assistance for half of May and most of June. The five year
commitment generated no interest to help K9EL with the project.
FIELD
DAY
A discussion was held on the
activities for the weekend.
It was decided to utilize
the facilities on the grounds of the former Tinley Park Mental Health Center.
There is much interest among the members and we have the support of Tinley Park
Emergency Management. Members volunteered support including N9ORD with cooking,
K9PY with acquiring provisions, W9ILY to do submissions, N9TK ground rod and
cable, K9DRS water and power cords. N9LAH will help with 6 & 2 meters and
440 Mhz. The club will provide meat, buns, chips, condiments, etc.
AB9MZ will assist as a
liaison with the Village EMA. A solar station will be possible with the help of
N9ORD.
Friday evening setup was
considered, but the possibility of loss and vandalism suggest a Saturday morning
installation.
A planning meeting will be
scheduled in early June by N9TK, to work out the details.
The ATNO
Club Challenge was mentioned as an
opportunity for those with a lower DX count to succeed. Twenty members have one
ATNO and three have two new contacts.
The May club meeting has
been rescheduled so as not to conflict with Dayton Hamvention. Jerry WB9Z will
offer a presentation on the K1N DXpedition
Following a motion to
adjourn by N9LAH and second by K9CJ, the meeting was called to a CLOSE
at 20:44 so that socializing could proceed.
A video on the VP8THU South
Sandwich DXpedition played in the background.
Respectfully submitted:
