BOARD MEMBER NOMINATIONS Our existing board members have agreed to serve an additional term but if anyone is interested in serving, please come forward and throw your name in the ring. The election will be held during the November meeting.

NEW MEMBERS We welcomed 2 new members this month, N9XR and NC9T.

DONATIONS Our Club makes yearly donations to DX related organizations. A motion was made by K9CJ and seconded by WT2P and approved to donate to INDXA ($100), NCDXF ($100), and Club Log ($100).

KING OF THE HILL  Our most recent winner was N2BJ Barry. He had a great score in the California QSO party making 473 contacts.  A member can win once per quarter.  The end of year KING OF THE MOUNTAIN will be awarded to the member who has compiled the most points for the year. You can find your place in the standings on the Metro website. The next event for King of the Hill is SSB Phone.

CONTESTS Congrats to Barry N2BJ and to Ralph K9ZO for their fine scores in CQ WPX SSB. Several members were active in the recent Makrothen RTTY contest. The scoring is interesting since points are based on distance between the station’s grid squares.  This can generate massive scores. Stu Perry, JARTS RTTY, Illinois QP are on this weekend. CQWW DX SSB is coming up.
