Winter Fest Wrap Up 2024
The Club held its our annual Winterfest on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Papa Joe’s restaurant in Orland Park. We had a nice turnout with 25 Metro members and guests attending. We were able to use their banquet room which allowed for more privacy and room to move around.
Our new president, Patrick W9PDS passed out free door prize tickets and offered tickets to those interested in our 50-50 raffle. We had lots of nice door prizes. Our grand prizes included a UR5CDX paddle or similar valued up tp $150, a 2 meter handheld, and an ARRL Antenna Handbook. We sat down for a nice meal. There was more time later to mingle with everyone attending. It seemed like everyone had a good time.
We would like to thank our prize donors including Metro DX Club, K9LA, our ARRL Central Division director, DX Engineering, MFJ Enterprises, KB3IFH QSL’s, Andriy W9KM donating tool kits, Tony Martinez donating a new handheld and Laura making up gift bags for the ladies. Everyone won something. A beautiful plaque was presented to our outgoing president Jim N9TK for his many years of service and dedication to the Club.
