Metro DX Club Winterfest Followup

We held our annual Metro DX Club Winterfest on January 17th in lieu of a meeting this month. 22 members and guests weathered a snowstorm to enjoy a nice family style dinner at Papa Joe’s Restaurant in Orland Park. The food was good and we had a chance to mingle with fellow attendees. We had enough prizes so that each attendee would win something in our free raffle. We also had 2 grand prizes, a Heil headset and an ARRL Antenna Book donated by Kermit W9XA.
Jim N9TK began the evening by welcoming the group.
After dinner, Jim began the prize drawings. At the end, all the tickets were returned and the grand prizes were drawn.
John K9DRS won the Heil headset Jerry K9LOT won the ARRL Antenna Book.
The balance of the evening was spent mingling with each other.
It also was announced that Lee WA9LEY was the winner of the 2019 Metro Marathon winning a one year subscription to the Weekly DX newsletter.
Thanks to our prize donors: Metro DX Club (Heil headset), ARRL (Antenna Book), DX Engineering, MFJ Enterprises, KB3IFH QSLs, K9LSH, and Laura (Prizes for the ladies). I’ve attached a photo of our prize table and few other event pictures.
